Mytton Fold is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty, well-known for its scenic countryside, delicious food and famous landmarks, Ribble Valley is at the official centre of the United Kingdom and is a place infused with history, holding a wonderfully rich heritage.

The Ribble Valley is the perfect place for you to escape the frantic pace of everyday life, whatever the time of year. It can revitalise your senses with its spectacular commanding fells and lush green valleys.

Walks

The surrounding area offers an abundance of walks for you to choose from – you really are spoilt for choice! Our favourites include Pendle Hill which is a fantastic walk with exhilarating views. Beneath the hill lie pretty villages which reveal a history of witchcraft and intrigue, spanning 400 years. Hurst Green Village marks the very start of the famous Tolkien Trail walk.

Days Out

The Ribble Valley has something for everybody. From museums, castles and historic houses for those that are interested in history, to coast trips for those wanting to feel the sand under their feet, let us take the stress out of planning your stay. Entertain the whole family with a fun farm day or take part in an arts and crafts experience day.

Golf

We are big fans of golf here at Mytton Fold and are lucky to have a golf course attached to the Hotel.

Cycling

Grab your helmet and explore the Ribble Valley’s scenic countryside by bike. Enjoy the area’s miles of rural roads which are ideal for cyclists.

Fishing

The River Ribble is currently acknowledged as one of the best salmon and sea trout rivers in England, whilst the fishing for wild brown trout and grayling on the River Hodder is on a par with some of the most productive rivers in Britain.

On the River Ribble and Hodder, day ticket fishing is available from as little as £5 a day. This is available under an innovative Angling Passport Scheme, giving anglers easy access to these productive waters via an easy-to-use token scheme.

Shooting

For thrill-seekers, a shooting day is the perfect adrenaline-filled experience. The Ribble Valley is closely located to many shooting grounds including popular clay pigeon shooting and rifle shooting.

Foot Golf

Try the fastest growing sport in the world, Foot Golf, at Mytton Fold Golf Club. Combining the accuracy of golf with the exhilaration of football, this exciting new sport is an experience you don’t want to miss. You can play on Sundays throughout the year from 2pm and the cost is just £10 for 18 holes. For parties of over 20 guests, the course can be opened privately on Monday to Saturday afternoons or evenings throughout the summer.
