Access Statement For Mytton Fold Hotel & Golf Complex


Introduction

The hotel is set within landscaped gardens, situated in 100 acres of stunning Lancashire countryside, with its own private 18 hole golf course within the grounds. We have 43 rooms offering double, twin or family rooms. 8 of the bedrooms are executive doubles.

We aim to provide the highest standards of service to all our guests and encourage this through our culture and detailed staff training. We look forward to welcoming you to Mytton Fold Hotel & Golf Complex and making your stay an enjoyable one.

We offer the following services and facilities:

Pre-Arrival

For assistance prior to arrival please contact the reservations team on 01254 240662.

The centre of Langho Village is a 5 minute walk. The centre of Whalley is 2 miles, approximately 30 minutes walk.

The nearest town is Clitheroe and this is 7 miles, a 10 minute drive.

A bus service is available to the villages and towns. There is a bus stop outside the hotel within two hundred yards, the buses are easily accessible.

The nearest train station is Langho, which is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. However, Clitheroe is the nearest accessible station, with trains to Blackburn, Bolton and Manchester. Blackburn also has trains to Preston, Blackpool, Bradford and Leeds.

We are open 24 hours although response, e.g to emails etc, may be reduced from 11pm to 6am.

Arrival and Car Parking Facilities

All guests should use the main driveway to the hotel situated on Whalley Road.

Guests staying at the hotel should take the first right hand drive to the reception car park.

Guests attending a function in the Abbey Suite should take the first right hand turn and then the first left to the function suite car park on the left hand side.

Guests playing golf should carry straight up the drive to the top car park for golf visitors situated on the right hand side.

 

There is an entrance and exit at each end of the reception car park. Cars must not be left unattended outside the doors to the hotel.

There are 300 spaces, of which 4 are designated for disabled guests, 3 directly in front of the hotel reception on one in front of the Abbey Suite function annex.

The hotel entrance is located to the right of the hotel building.

If you need assistance with luggage, equipment or guidance, our reception team are happy to help, so please ask.

 

Main Entrance and Reception

The hotel entrance is through a single door into a porch area, then a second door into reception.

There are no steps into the hotel or in the reception area.

You will find the reception desk on the left as you enter the main entrance.

 

There are a number of seating areas within the reception area.

The reception desk is 110cm high, to the left of the desk is a reduced height desk of 76cm. Registration can be completed whilst sitting in the reception area and we have clipboards available.

The registration card can be enlarged if required.

In room check in is available if requested.

To the left of reception is the main bar and lounge area.

To the right of the reception is the entrance to the golf members bar. The main restaurant is situated along the corridor to the right of the reception area.

All areas of the main entrance, reception and corridors are carpeted. Please ask reception for assistance if required.

Familiarisation tours can be given where required.

 

Public Areas

Photocopying and email facilities are available from reception and wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel free of charge.

There are 3 sets of public toilets, one in the bar area, one next to the main restaurant and one in the function suite.

The set of toilets in the main bar area has a unisex accessible toilet, as has the function suite.

The toilets provide:

150x160cm free space free of obstacles and doors

98cm transfer space to the left of the bar toilet

There are vertical rails either side of basins and toilet

There is a horizontal rail on the side opposite transfer from the toilet

 

There is a bar situated on the ground floor to the left of reception. It has level entry through a single doorway, and is carpeted throughout.

The bar area is on the right and has tall chairs around it. Table service is offered in the bar.

Lighting is mainly natural day light (from large windows overlooking the front of the hotel) at night the bar area is well lit.

 

There is a restaurant on the ground floor, which is reached via the corridor to the right of the reception desk, there is a slight slope. The entrance is on the left, the doors are sliding double doors, there is a 1 inch lip over the door frame into the main restaurant. Ramps are available if required.

Orders for the food are taken in the lounge/bar area, menus are available in large print, staff will automatically take you through the menu and choices for the meal. When your order is ready, the supervisor on duty will escort you to a table

Evenly distributed lights are on when required, lighting can be dimmed by sections.

We are able to cater for varying dietary needs, please advise staff on booking.

 

 

 

 

 

Outdoor Facilities

Entrance to the gardens is to the left of the reception area, there are tables and chairs within the garden area.
There is a path across the gardens to the right of the hotel building leading to the golf shop, changing rooms and toilets. There are a number of low steps along the path.
There are landscaped gardens with seating areas in front of the function suite, which is situated to the left of the hotel. There are a number of steps to access the gardens, but there is also an access pathway to the left hand side, approximately 10 yards, this has a slight slope.

Bedrooms

There are 3 accessible bedrooms, situated on the ground floor, which provide specific facilities for guests with disabilities;

  • Wide but light, easy to open entry doors.
  • Level entry, walk in shower.
  • Grab rails around the shower
  • Grab rails either side of the toilet horizontal and vertical.
  • Seat raiser for the toilet when required
  • Storage and wardrobe hanging adjustable to needs
  • Transfer space of at least 60cm either side of beds.
  • Twin beds
  • 19cm space under beds.
  • Emergency procedures clearly written and in large print
  • Television with teletext and remote control
  • Flooring in bedrooms is short pile carpets.
  • Flooring in 1 bathroom is non slip tiles with under floor heating.
  • 2 bathrooms are non slip safety flooring with under floor heating.
  • Light switches are lower, lighting levels are controllable and reading lamps are provided.
  • Bedding is all non feather
  • Bowls can be provided for assistance dogs’ food and water
  • All rooms are non smoking
  • The furniture is flexible and items can be moved or removed on request.
  • 1 bedroom has double patio doors opening on to a terrace.

 

 

Laundry

An in house laundry service is offered. Bags are available in bedrooms and need to be taken to reception. Laundry will be returned within 48 hours.
The dry cleaning service is available on request, this is not an in house facility and as such could take up to 5 days.

 

Shop

There are a number of cabinets in the main reception corridor which contain items for sale. These can be purchased through reception. There are toiletries as well as gifts and souvenirs. Clothes for the golf facility can be purchased through the golf shop, at the rear of the building.

 

Outdoor Leisure Facilities

There is an 18 hole golf course attached to the hotel.
The course was developed on the hillside to the rear of the hotel.
There is a dedicated car park at the rear of the hotel.
There are 20 golf buggies for use on the course, both petrol and LPG are available.
Equipment is not available for hire, however there is a wide range of equipment on sale within the shop.
The PGA golf professional is available for lessons, times will need to be pre booked.

Conference & Banqueting

We have 6 conference and meeting rooms, all situated on the ground floor.
Three rooms are in the main hotel and three are situated in the function annex.
The three rooms in the hotel are accessed through sliding double doors.
There is a lip for the door frame, plus steps leading to two of the rooms.
Ramps are available on request.

There is also access through a single door, along the corridor leading to the bedrooms, on the left hand side opposite the staircase, which bypasses the two steps.

The three rooms in the annex are all accessed through the Function suite entrance. The annex building is to the left of the hotel main entrance. The entrance to the annex is to the left side of the building.

The entrance is through double doors into the lobby, the entrance to the Raikeside room and Function suite bar area is through the double doors on the left. The entrance to the main ballroom is through the double doors on the right.

In the corridor there is a cloakroom to the immediate right, entry is through double doors. There are another set of double doors to the left which access the function bar area, a set of double doors straight ahead enter the ballroom and toilets to the right. There is a unisex accessible toilet to the same specification as the toilets listed above.

The third room, the Cronkshaw is accessed via the Abbey ballroom. There are two entrances, double doors and single doors.

There is a lot of natural daylight in the annex, with large full length windows that overlook the gardens.

Lighting is even but can be dimmed by sections.

Please notify the conference co-ordinators in advance if any additional services are required for conferences e.g interpreters, palantypist, specific seating or staging, we do try to accommodate all needs where possible.

There is a fixed stage/platform 41cm high to the right of the Abbey Ballroom. There are three steps to the left and right hand sides of the stage.

 

 

 

Additional Information

If you require any assistance during your stay please contact reception or the night porter. The Duty Manager can also be contacted via reception.

We have a set evacuation procedure for basic information – Alarm bells are a continuous alarm. Someone will come to your room and assist with evacuation either out of the building.

All front of house staff have regular training.

All housekeeping staff have been trained and are aware of procedures to aid privacy in bedrooms.

There is good network coverage for mobile phones within the hotel and average coverage from the hotel bedrooms. All networks work.

There is WIFI access, from all rooms, contact reception to purchase your access code.
